Dave Pemberton-Smith

Dave  has been mountain biking for over 25 years now. He used to live near Solihull, Warwickshire and although was surrounded by green belt areas actually finding rideable routes was quite hard as it was mostly farm land. So he started on canal towpaths.

Dave was on a canal and heading towards Birmingham city centre when he decided to ride around the city centre as it was early evening. This is where he discovered the underpass and subways with a labyrinth of steps and drops to make use off. Dave quickly got hooked on inner city mountain biking and honed his skills there. Dave has mountain biked over the years but only been a serious contender since moving to Rugeley in 2002. Dave has been riding and enjoying Cannock Chase ever since.

Although I ride my bike primarily for fun, I also compete in Gravity Enduro, 4X, Downhill and Cross Country events. Before taking up mountain biking, I worked for five years as a Civilian Flying Instructor with the RAF Air Cadets and have also worked as a horse riding instructor for many years so, my coaching background is pretty diverse!

Coaching basic mountain bike skills over the last six years to children and adults, is something I have found extremely rewarding.  I have a fun and friendly approach that will inspire your confidence and motivate your riding.  I am happy to take individuals or small groups and can tailor a skills session to ensure that you improve on the things YOU want to do, whilst making sure you still have Fun!
